What to expect from this ‘AI for HR: fundamentals’ course

This facilitator led half-day course introduces people professionals to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and its growing role in HR, giving you the conceptual grounding to engage confidently with AI before applying it in practice.

You'll get familiar with the core building blocks of AI, including machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and generative AI, so you can speak confidently with your team and stakeholders. You'll explore how AI is already being applied across the employee lifecycle, and work through real world scenarios AI is already creating in HR, such as handling AI generated CVs or navigating grievances submitted with the help of AI.

In parallel, the course builds your understanding of the ethical considerations that come with using AI at work, including how to design an AI policy for your own organisation. You'll learn how to identify the opportunities and risks of using AI tools within HR, and gain the grounding you need to make responsible, informed decisions as you progress to more practical, applied AI training.

What you’ll need to do on this CIPD ‘AI for HR: fundamentals’ course

This is a half-day virtual live course. You’ll learn through facilitated online lessons, activities and real world scenarios covering issues AI is already creating in the people profession. There is no preparation required prior to joining the sessions but you will need to have access to the internet and a laptop (or any equivalent device).
